The number of the Rwanda Red Cross members in Karongi and Rutsiro Districts is expected to rise from 99 to 3000 people, one of the major elements adding to the Organisations’ achievements
The Rwanda Red Cross projected the increase of its members during the showcasing day of its works and successes last week held in Karongi and Rutsiro District.
Isaac Habarugira, coordinator of Rwanda Red Cross in Karongi District asserts that apart from helping victims of natural disasters, Red Cross deals with donating live stock, water supply and housing the homeless among others to improve people’s lives.
According to the official, such responsibilities and humanitarian activities need more members to speed the social work across the country.
It is in this line that Pierre Claver Ndimbati, head of Organizational Development at Rwanda Red Cross told thepleader.com that they aim at increasing members from 99 to 3000 in Karongi District that would enable a push in humanitarian work.
The Organisation is optimistic that it will be achieved because many people have shown willingness to join Rwanda Red Cross, including a fact that residents are the direct beneficiaries of the good actions particularly helping the needy.
