Twenty-Six families of the vulnerable historically marginalized in Nyange and Musanze sectors of Musanze district received houses under the funding of Rwanda Red Cross.
Apart from houses, Red Cross Rwanda donated livestock and home use materials in addition to training some of the historically marginalized on vocational skills to promote job creation.
Each house has 3 bedrooms and a living room plus the separate kitchen, bathroom and toilet.
“The livelihoods of the historically marginalized have improved. Everybody can change for better if given help,” said Appolinaire Karamaga, Secretary General of Red Cross Rwanda
“Because of red cross, we have livestock. We dress well and are going to live in descent houses,” said Dative Mukeshimana, a beneficiary.
Red Cross started working in Rwanda in 1962 and has 30 branches all over the country.
