Plan Rwanda workers distribute donations to the genocide survivors in Kiziguro sector

Plan Rwanda, a nonprofit organisation on 9th, April, 2014 donated to 17 families of 1994 Tutsi genocide survivors in Kiziguro sector in Gatsibo district.

Genocide survivors received building materials; iron sheets and iron bars, food; rice, maize flour, and cooking oil, mattresses, beddings and soap collectively worth Rwf2.5 million.

 “We have many genocide survivors to help. I thank Plan Rwanda for the support in bringing hope to the genocide survivors,” Esperence Uwimpuhwe, Vice mayor for social affairs in Gatsibo district.

Plan has been operating in Rwanda since January 2007, helping poor children to access their rights to health, quality education and a sustainable future.

Plan Rwanda currently works with more than 12,000 sponsored children, their families and communities in Gatsibo, Nyaruguru and Bugesera districts.

In Gatsibo district, Plan Rwanda helps in promoting girl child education, building classrooms and donating livestock to the vulnerable to fight poverty.
