Youth belonging to Young Generation Forum visited Genocide survivors of Bisesero and the Memorial Site to learn the history of the 1994 genocide against Tutsis and supported the elderly and vulnerable genocide survivors who were left without family members.
The Young Generation Forum youth gave 2 cows worth Rwf600, 000 to the widows of Bisesero and Rwf50 000 to Bisesero Memorial site for maintenance and promised their continuous support.
Jacques Kagabo the coordinator of Young Generation Forum said they had come to learn from the history of Bisesero people who were outstanding during the 1994 genocide against the Tutsis.
People in Bisesero managed to fight the genocide militias using whatever traditional weapons at their, but were over powered towards the end of the Genocide.
The Young Generation Forum members were all asked to stay vigilant and fight the enemy of the country that would need to use them for they are the strength of the nation.
The youth said they are ready to learn from Bisesero people and stand for their country, fight whoever wants to destroy the security of Rwanda.
Apart from providing cows to the elderly and vulnerable Genocide survivors of Bisesero, the Young Generation Forum pledged alliance to youth in Bisesero to keep on supporting the genocide survivors in this area.
The vice mayor for social affairs of Karongi district Dative Mukabalisa Simbi thanked the youth in Young Generation Forum for visiting and supporting the genocide survivors of Bisesero and for giving them cows to rear.
