Ruhango Seventh Day Adventist starts hygiene drive

Seventh Day Adventist Church of Mujyejuru in Ruhango district organized a two weeks crusade with an aim to preach the word of God and sensitise residents live cleaner, healthier lives.

The crusade that commenced at Ruhango district headquarters on January 10 will end on January 24 January 2015.

Calixte Hategekimana, Head of Seventh Day Adventist Church evangelism in Mujyejuru said they expect positive results from the crusade, revealing it was organized to help people get close to God and protect themselves from diseases.

Tito Niyombaza, one of the pastors in charge of educating residents on health in the crusade revealed to the residents that he will teach them how to ensure cleanliness while preparing food until it’s eaten.

He explained that food can affect ones teeth if oral hygiene is not maintained, advising them to brush the teeth at least three times a day.

Participants revealed that they will learn a lot from the crusade because all the teachings are directed at helping them maintain hygiene and healthier lives.

It’s estimated that between 3000 and 4000 people turns up for the crusade every day.
