The entertainment concert emphasised the Peace, Unity and Reconciliation among the youth and all Rwandans. This year’s Peace Day Celebrations has the theme that states Education for Peace. The Secondary School students were entertained through songs, poetry, dances, dramas and presentations.

According to Kizito Mihigo the founder of KMP, the International Peace Day is a chance for the youth to remind the people what entails peace. “It is a chance for everyone to know of their responsibility in maintaining a peaceful world.”

“Everyone should be asking themselves, what is peace? What does it require to have peace? What is my role in it?” says Mihigo. Kizito reminded the youth that they are the future of Rwanda and for them to build a peaceful Rwanda; they need to be aware of its history bad and good.

Joséphine Munyeri who is in charge of promoting peace and reconciliation in the World Vision Project said they teach children about peace to grow with the need to promote peace among the people.

Munyeri asked the students to use what they know about peace and unity among people productively in their homes and where they stay.

Philbert Mugisha the mayor of Nyamagabe district appreciated the role done by KMP in the promotion of Peace, Unity and Reconciliation in Rwanda which is very much needed.

This Peace Promoting Concert was attended by students from Nkumbure Secondary School, Uwinkomo Secondary School, Ngororero Secondary School and Mudasomwa College.
