Genocide survivors and support offered

The Rwanda NGO Forum on AIDS and Health Promotion [RNGOF on AIDS and HP] visited 28 families of the 1994 genocide survivors and donated different items to help such people become self-reliant.

This activity was done to families in Dihiro village Ramiro cell, Gashora sector, Bugesera district and it involved different members to the forum.

Speaking at this ceremony, Jean Marie Vianney Murenzi the Gashora executive thanked these people for the support given.

“When we see such people helping us become self –reliant, this gives strength to such families of working hard which will help them develop”, said Murenzi.

He however reminded the visitors of the problems that such families faced which was mainly the housing problem, which houses need renovation.

“We represent about 160 organizations here”, noted the forum Chairman Dr. Prince Bosco Kanani.

This group promised to go back to such families and educate them different things that can help them develop.

The genocide survivors who received such items therefore thanked the group for the support given.

“We hope that all our problems will soon be solved”, said one Odette Mukarugira.

She added on thanking the government plus the different partners for the constant support they offer to them.

The genocide survivors promised to work together which is one way to quick development.

This forum helped such people get health insurance and with help from FARG they donated funds that will help such people rear animals which will lead to development.

Among the organizations represented were the Rwanda Red Cross, Strive Foundation, SINAPISI, and ARAMA among others.
