Some of the 100 cows given to the parents of poor children

“Plan Rwanda” has donated cows to 100 poor residents in Gatsibo district as a way of helping them fight poverty.

Plan Rwanda, a nongovernmental organization that started operating in Rwanda in 2007, focuses on helping poor children to access their rights to health, quality education and a sustainable future.

It’s in this regard that Plan Rwanda donates cows to the poor families so that children get milk since enjoying healthy lives is among their rights, reveals J. Prince Tuyishime of Plan Rwanda.

The beneficiaries are residents from Kiziguro, Murambi, Rwimbogo and Kabarore sectors who were told to make good use of the cows to uplift their standards of living.

Mike Rudasingwa, in charge of agriculture in Kiziguro sector commended Plan Rwanda for generosity and asked the beneficiaries to take good care of the cows and wave good bye to poverty.

The mayor of Gatsibo district, Ambroise Ruboneza revealed that the district rejoices over exceeding the number of cows it had pledged to give to residents in this year 2013.

Plan Rwanda operates in Gatsibo, Nyaruguru and Bugesera districts. Their activities are to promote child quality education, girl child education, children rights and to promote youth.
